VACTION BIBLE SCHOOL – Reaching Young Children

3 John 1:4…“I have no greater joy than this, to hear of my children walking in the truth.”

Vacation Bible School is a four to five day event that takes place at local facilities. Every day brings a new story from the Bible which is acted out by Sowers team members as well as children attending VBS.

LEARN ABOUT OUR VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL MINISTRY

According to the latest Barna Group study, nearly half of all Americans who accept Jesus Christ as their savior do so before reaching the age of 13 (43%), and that two out of three born again Christians (64%) made that commitment to Christ before their 18th birthday. Based on this, reaching children of all races, income levels, and backgrounds should be one of the most important missions we as Christians are involved in. And we at Sowers of the Kingdom believe that deeply. Our outreach to the children is through Vacation Bible School.

VBS takes place during our summer, or multi-generational trip. At this time, many US schools are on break from school. This allows the opportunity for a family to travel with us on a “family mission trip”. Participants lead the children with songs and crafts and teach a new memory verse from the Bible. Later the children have snacks and outdoor playtime. This can be a good way to “teach” your own children (by example and by involving them) what it means to be a missionary. It can be a rewarding time for all family members as well as the local children that we are able to reach out to.
